About Us

Water and soil are the basis of our life and the water cycle is thus a central aspect of our society. Since clean water is of great importance for daily use, the responsible and sustainable use of soil and water resources is a major challenge. In Austria we contribute our share for ensuring that future generations have sufficient ground water and surface water of high quality.

The Institute in Petzenkirchen was founded in 1945 with the idea of primarily focusing on the improvement of the soil water and the productiveness of agriculturally used soils, since at that time the nutritional situation and the productiveness of the soil was especially important.
