Principles, Tasks and Aims

In addition to supporting the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, we develop innovative methods to protect our aquatic environment including fish ecology, soil water and natural hazard protection. We also provide fisheries education and training.

We work in the public interest in the fields of aquatic ecology, fisheries management, soil water balance, cultural engineering, groundwater protection and flood protection.
