Skilled workers in the fishing industry
The training to become a fishery management specialist is modular and can be completed within three years. In a total of seven specialized modules, the topics of aquaculture, management of waters, fish science, hydrology and fish health are covered. All modules are self-contained.

Basic course
The basic seminar teaches the most important basic knowledge about fish, water as a habitat and aquaculture.

Module 1
The central theme is the biology and aquaculture of salmonid fish.

The fish biology of the carp species and the so-called "incidental fish" in aquaculture is the focus of this module.

This course will cover lake habitat and the lake fishing profession.

Two very different types of aquaculture are presented, classical carp pond farming and modern recirculating system technology.

The main topics form electrofishing, as a management tool and aquatic ecology, to create a basic understanding of the habitat.

Maintaining fish health and identifying disease will be the focus of the event.

Module 7
In a technical excursion through Austria, numerous companies from all professional branches of the fishing industry are visited.

Module 8
In this module, general vocational school subjects such as business administration and accounting, German and communication, English, political education, law, EDP, wood and metal processing are taught. Two weeks of the training are dedicated to the focus on fish processing and marketing (including market studies).
