Progress on the construction of the new 150 m² trial channel (part 2)

Following the successful completion of the first part of our test channel, the focus over the last few weeks has been on waterproofing. To ensure that our channel is watertight, we called in the expertise of swimming pool specialists. Last week, they completed the waterproofing work.

An important step was the first filling of the channel and the new pipe with water. A total of 48 m³ of water fit into the empty channel - and it stayed in! This confirms that the sealing measures were successful and that the gutter is watertight.

However, our pool season is short and the gutter has already been drained again, as we will be continuing with further installations next week. We are making great progress towards our hydraulic engineering model test for the self-dynamic widening of the Gail in Carinthia.
