The Federal Office of Water Management, our expertise and our premises in Scharfling am Mondsee have always connected people from a wide range of professional backgrounds. “With a love of fish and water”, wrote one participant on a course at our institute in 1955.
At the beginning of 2025, we welcomed a very special professional group to our institute. Monika Mörth, Head of the Water Management Section, and her senior colleagues from the Water Management Section of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management made the journey from Vienna to Scharfling to come together for a retreat including fish curry team building and to discuss the goals and framework conditions of Austrian water management.
The optimal use of water as a resource is always the focus for the Federal Office and our responsible section - but a positive atmosphere, sustainable structures and cooperation across the various specialist areas are also not insignificant.
We would like to thank the section for the excellent cooperation and hope that we will be able to welcome them back soon.
