Besides the support of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Regions and Water Management, one of the main activities of the Federal Agency for Water Management is the education and training of the population in water management fields.
Educational work with skilled workers has a long tradition at the Institute of Water Ecology and Fisheries Management, but also beyond this, every opportunity is taken to sensitize people to the great importance of water protection and proper water management.
The best way to do this is to start at a young age! Therefore, the Waldviertel Ecological Station was pleased when it was asked by the KLAR! Region Waldviertel Nord to learn the children at the vacation camp on 10.08.2023 about the value of water. Staff member Elisabeth Peham used fun games and tasks to communicate about water conservation and water-saving behaviour to the 3 to 12 year olds.
