The annual conference of the Austrian Soil Science Society took place on September 17, 2024. The conference was entitled “Mission Soil.at - Retrospect and Prospect” and was held in cooperation with the EJP SOIL project, whose main results and benefits for Austria were discussed.
As part of the poster presentation, several EJP SOIL projects with the participation of BAW-IKT were presented. BAW employee Lisbeth Johannsen won first prize in the Best Poster Award with a poster on the SCALE project.
BAW staff member Elmar Schmaltz gave a keynote lecture on landscape connectivity and why soil erosion research needs to break new ground, and took part in the panel discussion on Austria's perspectives in soil science.
