EU-Project LOCALIENCE: Successful first training course on “Multi-hazard events”

On October 14, 2024, the first successful training on multi-hazard events took place in the Austrian pilot region of the EU project LOCALIENCE.

The overall objective of the LOCALIENCE project is to improve response and resilience to extreme weather events through improved cooperation between disaster management professionals, the local public and civil society actors.

Highlights of the event:

  • Dedicated participants from regional authorities and local stakeholders
  • Presentation of the Austrian Multi-Hazard Impact-Based Advice Service
  • Discussion on climate change and its impact on multi-hazard events
  • Insights into Austria's national loss and event database
