This was the "Long Night of Research" at the Federal Office for Water Management

On May 24, 2024, researchers invited visitors to take an exciting look behind the scenes at over 270 exhibition locations across Austria during the "Long Night of Research" and we were there.

From 17:00 to 23:00, the Federal Office of Water Management presented exciting projects at 3 different locations (Vienna, Petzenkirchen, Mondsee). There was a lot to marvel at for the mixed audience of all ages. In Petzenkirchen, for example, visitors could take part in a laboratory tour or experience the latest echo sounder technology directly on board the boat at Mondsee. At the Vienna site (Palm House), visitors were able to find out about special tree substrates for the city.

Around 2400 visitors at all 3 locations made this event a complete success. The children and young people in particular were enthusiastic about watching and participating in the experiments and were able to learn more about our research work and activities.
