Construction of foundation for model experiments

On May 8, 2023, a 15 cm thick base plate of fiber-reinforced concrete was produced on our test area. This plate serves as a foundation for the construction of model tests. The following pictures show individual phases of the production of the concrete plate, starting with the delivery of the concrete. The final picture, after more than 10 hours of work, is of the concrete plate sealed with plastic sheeting. This covering should allow the concrete to cure evenly and avoid so-called shrinkage cracks.
